William Beam Chunn, son of William Grimes Chunn and Lavenia Ruth Curran, was born 14 Nov 1873 in Sprigg Twp., Adams County, Ohio. In about 1891, he married Sarah Jane Carson. They had 4 children. The family moved to Haskell, Kansas, and then to Saskatchewan, Canada, where William and Sarah divorced. He moved again to Hettinger, Adams County, North Dakota, where he met and married Ethel Lydia Reed, a young woman 25 years his junior. They raised 10 children together.

In 1947, at age 73, he decided that it was time to retire to a warmer climate, and moved his family to El Monte, California, and then finding the lifestyle too hectic, moved again to Grants Pass, Oregon. He died in Merlin, Oregon, on 3 Apr 1953 at the age of 79 years.
