Louren was married to Christina Johnson of Sweden and they had 4 children: Estella, John, Edward, and Oscar. They separated. She went to Montebello, California and he took a job at the Climax Molybdenum Mine in Colorado and shortly thereafter died in a mining accident there.

LEADVILLE, Colo., June 7. -

A coroner's jury late today visited the scene of a cave-in at the Climax Mine, 15 miles northeast of Leadville, in which four men were killed and three were injured.

A formal inquest into the accident was ordered for Monday.

Props supporting the roof of a tunnel gave way without warning, burying the victims under tons of rock and slate.

The dead were:
Ralph P. Port, 32, Denver.
Sherman Frazier, 36, Leadville.
Fred C. McMahon, 28, Leadville.
Leon(sic) Burton, Butte, Mont.
