FUNERAL RITES AT RUSHVILLE
Services Wednesday for Mrs. Laura A. Colvin, 84, Formerly of Richland

Mrs. Laura Annise Colvin, 84, a native of the Richland community in Rush county, expired Monday morning at the home of her daughter, mrs. G.M. Churchill, in Galesburg, Ill., where she had been residing for several months.

Funeral services will be held at the Wyatt Memorial mortuary at Rushville at 2 p.m. Wednesday. Interment will be made in the Richland cemetery.

Mrs. Colvin was born in Rush county February 12, 1860, a daughter of George W. and Margaret Brown. She was married April 9, 1879, to James R. Hargitt, an instructor in the schools of Rush county for many years.

Several years after his death she was married to Sylvester Colvin, a retired farmer and Civil war veteran. After the death of Mr. Colvin, she moved to Indianapolis, residing at 2041 Park avenue until she suffered a severe heart attack in July, 1943. Following many weeks in a hospital she was removed to the home of her daughter.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Churchill of Galesburg, Ill., and Mrs. C.G. Alwood of Phoenix, Ariz.; three stepdaughters, Mrs. John Murphy and Mrs. Enos McKibben of New Salem and Miss Mary Colvin of Indianapolis; one brother, Lewis J. Brown and one sister, Mrs. W.R. Dunkle of Indianapolis; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Two sons preceded her in death.

Relatives residing in Decatur county include Frank Hargitt, of near St. Omer and Mrs. John Greene, of near Greensburg. Mrs. Colvin was a descendant of the Donnell family of Decatur county.
