AYRES John Wayne Ayres 48, a resident of Mountain view Drive, died Sunday afternoon at the Seaside Nursing Home in Portland following a long illness. He was born in Columbus, Ohio March 28,1954 the son of Ronald P. and Elizabeth L. (Arkley) Ayres. He attended St. Phillips Grammar School in Columbus, Graduated from Walnut Ridge High School there, and Graduated from Westbrook College with a B.S. in Business. Mr. Ayres served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam era having been a missile mechanic specialist. In previous years he was employed as a Disc Jockey for W.P.O.R. He later became the founder, owner and C.E.O. of Ayers Computer of Minot. Mr. Ayres was a member of the Airplane Owners and Pilots Association, he had a great passion for flying and flew often out of the Lewiston/Auburn Airport. Other hobbies included Beekeeping, woodworking and carpentry. His most important interest were his family members and he was a very loving and devoted grandfather. Survivors include his parents of Columbus, OH; 1 daughter, Mrs. Scott (Stacy M.) Brindle of Portland; 1 son, Carey P. Ayres of Portland; 1 step-son, Sean Horrigan and his wife, Jane of Minot; 2 brothers, Michael P. Ayres and his wife, Teresa of Canal Winchester, OH and Mark A. Ayres of Columbus, OH; 6 grandchildren, Ashlee and Kaylee Ayres, Thomas and Tori Grey and Hannah and Riley Horrigan; 2 nephews; his former wife and dearest friend, Jan Small.
