Alyce's (also spelled Alice) parents were Sophie (Konopka) Rurka and Frank Rurka. Her older sisters were Freda and Genny. In 1947 she wed Melvin Myers and they had 3 children: Christopher, Melanie, and Mark. She died from colon cancer that spread to her liver and bones. She is sorely missed.
