Funeral for Betty Jane Chase Endres, 86, formerly of Alvord will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 27, at the First United Methodist Church of Alvord with the Revs. Dr. Bob Wilson and Ed Cherryholmes officiating. Burial will be in Alvord Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Coker-Hawkins Funeral Home.

Endres died Monday, June 23, 2008, in Clifton.

Born Sept. 24, 1921, in Yehola, Okla., to Leonard Earl and Margaret Ethel (Threadgill) Chase, she graduated from Central High School in Oklahoma City in 1939 and attended Blackwell-Davis Business College. She was employed at Southwestern Bell in Oklahoma City as a bookkeeper until 1946. She married Robert Hugh Endres of Custer, Okla., Feb. 5, 1947.She and Robert moved to Alvord in 1963, where she was a member of the Alvord United Methodist Church and was president of the United Methodist Women. She helped develop the Alvord Public Library and served as its first librarian for five years. Due to health reasons, she and Robert moved to Clifton in 2005.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.

She is survived by her husband; daughters, Kathy Crosby and husband, Beau, of Woodway and Doris Flora and husband, Mike, of Alvord; sons, Marshall Endres and wife, Donna, of Decatur and Greg Endres and wife, Pat, of Alvord; four granddaughters, Lesley Goodson, Meagan and Rachel Endres and Ralene Schilt; four step-grandchildren; two great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.Pallbearers are Jerry Matthews, Mark Matthews and Wesley Sehi.Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Alvord.
