Area Resident Ends Own Life

An 83-year-old Butler Township resident who had been in ill health ended his life with a .22-caliber rifle about 2 p.m. Saturday, Deputy Coroner Al W. Lehnerd said today.

The body of Charles F. Troutman was found at 3:15 p.m. Saturday in the basement of his home, 369 New Castle Road.

Born in Concord Township, he was the son of Jacob and Susan Leibold Troutman. His wife, Mary Jane Jackson Troutman, preceded him in death. He was a farmer by occupation.

Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Roy Weigle of 360 New Castle Road; Mrs. David Hemphill of Butler R.D. 7, and Mrs. Duane Day of Rochester, N.Y.; two sons, Kenneth Troutman of 369 Evans City Road and Wilbur Troutman of 369 New Castle Road; 11 grand-children; a brother, Frank Troutman of Butler; three sisters, Mrs. P.R. Day of North Butler, Mrs. Carrie Nastassky of Deer Creek, Minn., and Mrs. Albert Kradel of Butler.

Mr. Troutman was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
