Kimberly Ann Ames (nee Smith), 23 of Beachwood, NJ died October 8, 1998 at the Jersey Shore Medical Center in Neptue. She was born in Lakewood, NJ but lived all of her life in Beachwood. Beloved wife of less than four months (married June 19, 1998) of Leonard A. Ames. Kimberly was two months pregnant when she died as a result of a car accident when she was struck by a drunk driver.
Cherished daughter of Edward and Carol Lang Smith of Beachwood. Beloved beloved sister of her brother, Steven Smith serving in the Navy in Alexandria, VA, Tracy Smith of Woodbridge, NJ and Kathleen Smith, currently serving in the Navy in Japan. She is also survived by her maternal grandmother, Helen Lang of Brick.
Kimberly was an instructor at the 21 Plus Training Center in Lakewood for four years. She was a 1993 graduate of Toms River High School South and a 1995 graduate of Ocean County College. She was a member of the cross country teams at both schools, She was a member of the Church of Grace and Peace in Toms River. Funeral services were held at the church of Grace and Peace, Old Freehold Road in Toms River. The family requested contributions to MADD (Mothers Against Drunk Driving) or to 21 Plus.
