Thomas had light blue eyes, red hair and medium build according to the WWI Draft Card. He was briefly in WWI in the Army - the 10th Company, 3rd Training Battalion and was honorably discharged. He and his wife Anna Marie Drury had 10 children, three of which died in infancy. His WWII Draft card states that he was 6' 2", light blue eyes, and grey hair. Family members remember him smoking his pipe, reciting poetry and good humor.
Just prior to his passing he was living with his daughter Joan Wilczak and her husband Edwin. He passed away at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Philadelphia and was buried at Holy Cross Cemetery.
