A native of Haywood County, he was the son of the late James and Mamie Pressley Gaddis. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a brother, Phillip David Gaddis. He retired from Anderson Automotive and was a member of Longs Chapel United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Tullis Sunday-School Class. He enjoyed working in his yard, but most of all, he loved being with his family and friends. Jim had a strong Christian faith and served in numerous church positions over the years.
He is survived by his wife of 51 years, one daughter, one son, Stephen R. Gaddis, two sisters, four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at Longs Chapel United Methodist Church. Entombment will be at Garrett-Hillcrest Memorial Park Mausoleum.
