When Carrie Ratliff passed on in 1949 she owned Home Creek Resort at Huntington Lake, California. She was the senior partner along with her daughter, Nina Mardel Ratliff Lutz, and son Frank Jerry Ratliff. In her will she divided her share equally between her daughter and son. She had just recently moved to Fresno, California to be closer to her business, but was a resident of San Francisco, California since the 1922.

Carrie's grandmother Delilah Green Blatchly(1832-1895) was the daughter of Judge Bowling Green, friend and mentor to Abraham Lincoln in New Salem, Illinois. Carrie fondly remembered the stories of the young Mr. Lincoln that her grandmother knew as a teenager. Judge Bowling Greene Memorial

Her ashes were transported to the Columbarium at Olivet Cemetery in Colma, California to rest beside those of her husband, George Oliver Ratliff. The columbarium always smelled of flowers, and then had singing canaries in cages at the end of each room.
