JOSEPH S. SWOPE
Of 907 Sixteenth avenue, rear, died at his home at 11.25 o'clock Saturday night of chronic heart trouble. By occupation he was a miner but had been unable to work for the past several years. He was born on Feb. 7, 1856, in Fulton county. Surviving are his wife and seven children, Joseph E., David S., Ray A., Mrs. G.R. Smith, Mrs. Edgar Myers and Mrs. Roy Jobe, all of Altoona; Walter E. Swope of Llyswen and Wilbert F. of Ashville. Two brothers and two sisters also survive, D.W. Swope and Mrs. Elizabeth Nail of Johnstown, Lemuel L. Swope of this city and Mrs. Adam Woolheater of Pittsburgh. Deceased was a member of Lodge 744, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, of this city, and of the Loyal Order of Moose of Gallitzin. The funeral will be held with services at the late home at 2 o'clock tomorrow afternoon, followed by interment in Rose Hill Cemetery.
