Mrs. Harriett L. Allen, 85, died at 8:45 p.m. Friday, Nov 30, 1956, at her home in Richmond Dale, following an illness of a year. The daughter of William and Priscilia McGuire Landrum, she was born July 4, 1871, at Higby, Ohio. On Sept. 16, 1900, she married Charles W. Allen who died July 19, 1941. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Richmond Dale Baptist Church and missionary society and of the Richmond Dale Friendly Circle. Surviving are four daughters; Mrs. Louise Brust of Dayton, Mrs. Mildred Ralston of Nashport, Mrs. Helen Anderson of Kingston, and Mrs. Anna Swaney; two sons, Howard L. Allen of Richmond Dale, and Marshall Allen of Chillicothe; a sister, Mrs. Matilda Blaum of Waverly; two brothers, Charles and William Landrum, both of Chillicothe; ten grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. The Rev. Arlin Pittman will officiate at the service to be held at 2 p.m. Monday in the Richmond Dale Baptist Church. Burial will be in Caldwell Cemetery by the Ware Funeral Home.
