Hollidaysburg Register, Hollidaysburg PA, 02 Jun 1847 - MARRIED. On Thursday, the 27th, by the Rev. Mr. RIGHTMYER, Mr. Robert H. McCORMICK, of this borough, to Miss Ellen BENTON, of Williamsburg.

Indiana Progress, Indiana PA, 29 Jun 1898 - RECENT DEATHS. ROBERT McCORMICK. Capt. Robert McCORMICK, a former well-known resident of Cherrytree, died, near Ronceverte, W. Va., suddenly on Tuesday night, aged about 78 years. He was engaged in the lumber business and was found dead in bed Wednesday. Until 10 years ago he lived at Cherrytree, but since he left his native town he had been engaged in the lumber business in the south. Mr. McCORMICK was a veteran in the late war and a brave and daring officer. His wife died a number of years ago but the following children survive the father: E. B. McCORMICK, of Cherrytree; Judson and Harry, of Colorado; Mrs. Howard CAMP, of North Carolina; and Mrs. Jessie BOLSINGER, of Ebensburg. The deceased was a member of the Presbyterian church. The remains were brought to Cherrytree and the funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon in the Presbyterian church, Rev. ROBINSON officiating. The services were in charge of Cherrytree Lodge, No. 417, I.O.O.F. and were largely attended. Interment followed in the Odd Fellows' cemetery. JOHN F. NOTLEY. Mr. John F. NOTLEY, a well-known resident of Cherrytree, died at his home on Thursday afternoon aged 74 years. . . . LOCAL CORRESPONDENCE. Cherry Tree. John McCORMICK, of New York City; Mrs. BOLSINGER, of Ebensburg, and three sons; and Mrs. Harry McCORMICK of Denver, Colo., were in attendance of the funeral of the late Capt. R. H. McCORMICK . . . Messrs. Jno. DRISCOL, of Ronceverte, and Henry WHITE, of Bluefield, W. Va., who accompanied the remains of Capt. R. H. McCORMICK to this place, returned home today.

Indiana Evening Gazette, Indiana PA, 29 Jun 1898 - Captain Robert H. McCORMICK, for 40 years a resident of Cherrytree, died suddenly at Ronceverte, West Virginia, June 22, 1898. Mr. McCORMICK was born in Blair county 72 years ago but in the fifties moved to Cherrytree, where he started a tinning establishment, later he engaged in lumbering and was engaged in that business at the time of his death. Capt. McCORMICK was a veteran of the Civil War, was elected to the legislature in 1868 on the Democratic ticket, thus showing his strength in a strong Republican county. He leaves several chldren, his wife dying several years ago. The remains were brought to Cherrytree Thursday for interment at the old home.
