Daughter of Morris E. and Bernice Brooks Mason. She was preceded in death by her parents. She was married on June 1, 1940 to Salisbury native, Dick Sims Gehrig who preceded her in death on July 4, 1992. Mrs Gehrig was a graduate of Keytesville High School and Northeast Missouri Teachers College, Kirksville. She taught school in Chariton County for several years, in Marshaltown, Iowa for two years and the Salisbury R-4 elementary school for two years. She also served as a substitute teacher for several years. She was a member and deacon emeritus of the First Christian Church in Jefferson City, a member of the General Federation of Women's Clubs from 1945 until 1967; the Co Wed Sunday School Class; and a member of the Jefferson City X Club. Services were held at the First Christian Church in Jefferson City with Rev. Dr. Lawrence Veatch officiating. Private graveside services were held at Salisbury.
