UNUSUAL TRAGEDY IN HARRIS COUNTY

SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD ROBERT MADDOX STRUCK SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD TOM HARALSON, FRACTURING HIS SKULL.

Chipley, Ga, March 22. -(Special.)- News has just reached here from Whitesville, about ten miles west of this place, of a fight between two sixteen year old school boys, Tom Haralson, son of T.W. Haralson, and Robert Maddox, son of Hon. J.A. Maddox, in which young Maddox struck Haralson with a large stick, fracturing the skull in two places.
Haralson died a few hours afterwards from the effects of the blow.
The cause of the fight cannot be ascertained, as no quarrel can be traced up to within ten minutes of the fight, and the two boys were especially good friends.
The community is much grieved over the deplorable occurrence.
