WESTFIELD
Avanelle (Harvey) Baker

Avanelle (Harvey) Baker, 84, died Monday, Sept. 30, 2002, at Hoosier Village Health Care. She was a resident of Westfield.

She was born March 1, 1918, in Westfield. Her parents were Arthur and Dessie (Davis) Harvey. She married Alvin K. Baker. He preceded her in death in 1991. Survivors include a daughter, Suzy Chapman of Greenwood; and two grandchildren.

She was a 1936 graduate of Westfield High School and a 1938 graduate of Butler University.

She was employed as an elementary school teacher in Noblesville and Albany.

She was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Westfield, Friendly Eagles Home Economics Club, Outlook Club and the Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

The Revs. Steve Walker and Brian White will conduct a service at 10 a.m. today at McMullan Funeral Home in Westfield. Burial will be at Summit Lawn Cemetery in Westfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ United Methodist Church Building Fund.
