Dorothy Gransky September 29, 2011 Dorothy Gransky, previously from Endicott, NY, passed away September 29, 2011, at the age of 88. Dorothy was a devoted wife and mother and dedicated her life to helping others through the Daughters of the Nile and the Order of the Eastern Star. She held numerous offices in both organizations at the local and national level including Queen of Zuleika Temple #9, Supreme Princess of Daughters of the Nile, Matron of Round Hill Chapter #104 Order of the Eastern Star where she served with her husband, Harry, as Patron, and District Deputy Grand Matron of Order of the Eastern Star of New York. She worked many hours organizing and participating in fundraising efforts for the Shriners Hospitals for Children. Dorothy will surely join Harry, her husband of more than 50 years, in heaven. She is survived by her two daughters, Sheila Gangemi and Debbie Ide; her grandchildren, Lori McIntyre, Jodi Arvidson, Alex Ide and Andrea Ide; her great-grandchildren, Molly, Ian, Mia, Cora, Tobin and Anneleise; and her special niece, Sharon Fiacco. Calling hours are scheduled for 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday, October 13, at the Allen Memorial Home, 511-513 East Main Street, Endicott. A church service is planned for 10 a.m., Friday, October 14, at the North Minster Presbyterian Church at the intersection of Farm to Market and Hooper Roads, Endwell. A procession and burial follows immediately to the Riverhurst Cemetery, 2500 East Main Street, Endicott, NY. Please join the family for a luncheon, put on by the Order of the Eastern Star at the Round Hill Lodge, 403 Main Street, Endicott, NY, following the burial ceremony.
