Carol A. (Savage) Brackley October 10, 2011 Carol A. Brackley, 76, of Syracuse, passed away at her home on Monday. Carol was born in Blue Mountain Lake and has lived in Syracuse for most of her life. She was a graduate of Samaritan School of Nursing and retired from St. Joseph's Hospital, after over 20 years as a RN. Carol was an avid golfer, card player and gardener and was active in the Syracuse Rose Society. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and chair caning. Her husband, E. Lee predeceased her in 1976. Survivors include her sister, Elaine Toczydlowski of Poughkeepsie; her daughters, Susan (James) Aviza, Julia (Theodore) Riverso and Laura Brackley; her sons, James (Margaret), Dennis (Cathy) and Andrew (Deborah); her 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Calling hours will be Thursday 4 to 8 p.m. at Carter Funeral Home, 1604 Grant Blvd., Syracuse. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 9 a.m. in St. John the Baptist / Holy Trinity Church. Burial will follow in Onondaga Valley Cemetery.
