Alfred Lavon Buell of Aloha and Winston, passed away April 17, 2012. Born in Monmouth to Hathaway and Ruth Buell, Al grew up in Tule Lake, Calif., and graduated from Tule Lake High School. A World War II Navy veteran, Al served in Okinawa. After the war he was active in the Civil Air Patrol as a flight instructor. Al had a long career with the U.S. Federal Government, working for the I.R.S. in the payroll department, and for Bonneville Power Administration as an electronics technician at McNary Dam. His hobbies included ham radio, computers, motorcycle riding, travel and reading. He built one of the first personal computers in Oregon. Al married Laura Ringsage in 1950 and they raised two children in Portland, Walla Walla, and Umatilla. Laura passed away in 1991. Al married Mary Indergard in 1993, and enjoyed traveling with her in their motorhome. Mary passed away in 2008. Al is survived by his son, Phillip Buell (Evelyn); daughter, Gail Ringsage; and granddaughters, Kelly Ringsage and Laura Buell.
