Barney Edward Clifton
HYSAHM, MT. ----- Barney Edward Clifton 59, died at his home in Hysham Monday evening following a long illness.
He was born in Ingomar, MT, a son of Sylvester and Wilma Thomas Clifton.
He spent his youth and attended school in Ingomar and cowboyed in the Rosebud and Treasure County areas, until entering the Army in 1953.
He married June Marie Buckalew on Aug 19, 1953, in Roundup, MT.
He served in Germany and received his discharge in 1955.
He returned to Ingomar and worked as a heavy equipment operator for the Montana State Highway Department.
Then he moved to Hysham in 1962 working for Oscar DeCock for nine years, then the Treasure County Road Maintenance, retiring in 1985.
He lived in Hysham since.
Survivors include his wife, two sons, Roy Ed Clifton and Jake Clifton both of Hysham. two daughters, Wilma Marie Clifton of Hysham and Rose Ann Cook of Shepherd, his mother Wilma Clifton of Hardin, MT., Roy E. Clifton of Roberts, MT., Clinton Clifton of Custer, MT., Clayton of Billings, MT., and Jim Clifton of Denver, CO., three sisters,
Wilma Ann Imel of Billings, MT., Helen Cupp of Cassville, MO., and Vonda Lee Ripple of Denver, CO., and two grandchildren.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the Beals Mortuary Chapel.
Burial in the Forsyth Cemetery, Forsyth, MT.
Cremation has taken place.
Beals Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
