Millard C. Cornwell was born October 7, 1903 to William and Nancy Cornwell in Tullahassee, Oklahoma.

Mr. Cornwell confessed a hope in Jesus Christ at an early age. He came to Cleveland in 1928 and joined Shiloh Baptist Church under the pastorate of Dr. A. L. Boone and served as Deacon and a charter member of the Trustee Board of Fellowship Center. He was president of the State Usher Board of Ohio.

In 1929, he was united in matrimony to Beatrice Caldwell. To this union was an adopted son, Joseph Cornwell.

In 1955, Millard C. Cornwell was united in matrimony to Jimmie Butler. Mr. Cornwell, thirty-three degree, was initiated in King Solomon's Lodge No. 8 in 1929, and served in every station in the Lodge. He was elected Grand Master of the Most Worshipful St John Lodge, holding this position until retirement in 1969 due to failing health.

He leaves to mourn a devoted wife and son, Eric Cornwell; one grandson of Indianapolis, Indiana; four sister, Leslie Washington, Mrs. Gertrude Thomas, Rosalee Mayfield, and Willie Osar of Little Rock, Arkansas; three brothers: Wilson, Sargent, and J. D. Cornwell all of Tulsa, Oklahoma and a host of relatives and friends.

Mrs. Jimmie Cornwell and family wish to thank all persons for their many expressions of kindness shown us during our bereavement. your prayers have meant so much to us. Continue to pray for my strength in the Lord.
