Bernadine Allen was born the second child of Sumner Sherman Allen and Cora Belle Butterfield. They are buried in this cemetery.

~0bit~Mrs. Alberta Louise Butterfield, and Mr. and Mrs. John Bird Allen, of Cedar Rapids, were called here last week by the serious illness of their little granddaughter. Sumner Sherman and Cora Belle Allen are morning the loss of their infant daughter, who passed away at their home here at 12:30 a.m. Friday, February 11, after a few days' illness with whooping cough. The baby was born at Monti in September of last year and was bright and beautiful but never strong. Mr. and Mrs. Allen have one other child, a daughter Maxine. In their deep grief they have the heartfelt sympathy of their many friends. The funeral service was held at the M. E. Church Saturday afternoon at 2'clock and there was a large attendance. The Rev. G. F. Kelly was in charge. The little form was laid to rest in Greenwood Cemetery.
