August Arndt, residing four miles west of Romney, died at 4 o'clock yesterday morning of rheumatism. He was 39 years old and leaves a widow. Mr Arndt was a member of the Methodist church and enjoyed the respect of all who knew him. The funeral will be conducted tomorrow morning at 10 o'clock, Rev J J Claypool officiating. The remains will be brought to the city and will be interred in Greebush cemetery. (Lafayette, Indiana,Daily Courier, Monday May 1, 1899)
