MUSCATINE, Iowa - Margaret M. Brase-Kent, 86, of Muscatine, Iowa, died Thursday, April 17, 2003, at Lutheran Homes.
Services are 10 a.m. Monday at the Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home. The Rev. Paul Ostrem of Zion Lutheran Church will officiate. Casket bearers are David Peak, Tom Brase, Scott Bierman, Steve Lick, Shane Conger and Alan Gilbert. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery. Following interment there will be a luncheon at Zion Lutheran Church.
Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Zion Lutheran Church and Calvary Baptist Church.
Mrs. Brase-Kent was born Sept. 7, 1916, in Germany, the daughter of Gustav and Ameila Neuman Messinger. She married Henry Brase Dec. 1, 1934, in Dixon, Ill. He died May 26,1986. She married Feryl Kent, Nov. 10, 1990. He died July 21,1991.
She worked at Weber Button Company for many years and then later worked for Thatcher Plastics 16 years.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church.
She loved flowers, babysitting her grandchildren, making Yo-Yo quilts, crocheting and visiting with the Senior Circle.
She will be deeply missed by her two sons, Kenneth Brase and his wife Joann, Muscatine and Richard Brase and his wife Joann, Davenport; one daughter, Barb Flanagan, Muscatine; one brother Alvin Messinger and his wife Medrith, Montpelier; one sister, Elsie Weber, Muscatine and 13 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; three brothers, Edmund, Ernest, and Otto and three sisters Rosa, Freida and Elizabeth.
