Clarence E. Higgerson, 85, of Community Care of America, died Thursday at the care center.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home, Muscatine. Burial will be in Muscatine Memorial Park. Visitation is 4-7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home, with a Moose service at 7:30 p.m.
He was employed more than 30 years as a carpenter. He was born Jan. 19, 1912, in West Burlington. He married Sarah Mathes in 1942 in Muscatine.
Survivors include daughters, Lori Westphal, Wichita, Kan., Patti Goodall, Gladstone, Mo., and Betty Fowlie, Muscatine; sons, Richard E., Muscatine, Dennis E., Iowa City, and Clarence W., Tulsa, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; a sister, Martha Crow, Muscatine; and a brother, Richard I., Daggit, Calif.
