Aura L. Batterbee, 94, of East Jordan, died March 24, 1984, at Little Traverse Division of Northern Michigan Hospitals.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 27, at Oak Chapel of the Vanderwall Funeral Home, East Jordan. Rev. Philip Simmons of the East Jordan United Methodist Church will officiate. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery.
The former Aura L. Keller was born Dec. 11, 1889, in East Jordan. She married Earl C. Batterbee in 1914 in Charlevoix. The couple always made their home in East Jordan and Mr. Batterbee preceded her in death in 1962.
Mrs. Batterbee jad been employed at the East Jordan Canning Co. for 23 years, retiring in 1952. She loved to travel, to shop and to fish. Her last fishing expedition was in the fall.
She was a member of the East Jordan United Methodist Church and the Ladies Aid of the church. She was also a Blue Star Mother.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Vera Rebec and one son, Clair Batterbee, both of East Jordan; 15 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Viva Denise of Boyne Falls.
The family suggests memorials to the United Methodist Church. Envelopes for that purpose are available at the Vanderwall Funeral Home where friends may call until 9 p.m. today.
