Mary and John Bryant∼Martin Bryant enlisted April 6, 1862 in Monroe Louisiana.
Company F was the last to join the Fourth Louisiana Infantry Battalion.
They left Ouachita Parish in the spring of 1862 and joined the Battalion on
James Island a few months prior to the battle of Secessionville, in June of 1862.
It appears that Lt. Colonel John McEnery raised this company while
home in Monroe on furlough. This company was known as the Ouachita Rebels.
