RIPLEY – Gladys Sue Burford Cunningham, 77, died Tuesday, July 2, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was a chiropractic assistant, a homemaker and a member of the Ripley Church of Christ.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Ripley Church of Christ with Minister Glenn Fann officiating and Dr. Patrick Chapman assisting. Burial will be in Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley. McBride Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Dr. Frankie “Bunny” Hunt and her husband, Kenny, of Brooksville, Fla., and Rebecca Genevieve Cox and her husband, Don, of Deatsville, Ala.; a son, Dr. Roger Grady Cunningham and his wife, Nancy, of Ripley; a sister, Melba Bradshaw of Camden, Ark.; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Samuel Grady Cunningham; a sister, Rebecca Newman; a brother, Roger Cortez Burford Jr.; and her parents, Roger Cortez Burford Sr. and Gladys Key Burford.

Pallbearers will be Mike Harrison, Robert Farrow, Edward Willingham, Bobby Medlin, Stoney Medlin and Roger McAlister.

The body will lie in state at the church one hour before services.
