Mr. Jesse Carter, one of the best old gentlemen in the West End, died a few days ago of infirmities aftendant on old age. The remains were laid to rest in the McCormack's church grave yard after services by Eld. J. Q. Montgomery. Mr. Carter is survived by only one child - Mr. Richard Carter, of Lebanon. His wife died a number of years ago. He lived an honorable, upright life but it was only a few weeks ago that he made a profession of religion and united with the Christian church. He was a very popular man and his many friends are grieved that he has been taken away from earthly scenes.
