Sell Shipley died at his home in Howe Valley on Wednesday of paralysis. Born in Maryland and came to Kentucky with his parents when he was 7 years old, the older people settling in Meade Co. Had he lived until the 18th of this month, he would have been 78 years old, Married Miss Samara Stiles on April 26, 1852. Survived by 10 children, all of Hardin Co: David, James Joseph, John, Robert, Charles, Mrs Wm Bunger, Mrs Sallie Pumphrey, Mrs Lee Woolridge, Mrs Thoams Pirtle. Member of Methodist Church. Funeral was at his home church with burial conducted by the Masonic Order, of which he was a member.
