Charles and Lou were married December 21, 1910 in Frostburg by D. H. Martin pastor First ME Church..
Lou and Charles lived on Hill Street, directly next door to the Hill Street School (now the Frostburg Museum).
Lou was a great cook and baked bread and always made rhubarb pie, from the rhubarb from her big garden. Her sister, Clara lived next door to her.
Lou passed away while staying with her daughter Lillian, in Cleveland, OH at Hillcrest Hospital. Lou was laid to rest in Frostburg Memorial Park.
They had 3 children:
Lillian Clarissa Smith b: 12 April 1913;
James Oliver Smith b: 11 August 1915;
Joseph Benjamin Smith b: 07 September 1919.
Her sons Jim and Joe lived across the street from her, where she could be close to her grandchildren.
