Judge Brennan, a 1975 graduate of the University of Michigan and a 1978 graduate of Detroit College of Law, had been engaged in the general practice of law for over 30 years; principally confined to the tricounty area and representing both plaintiffs and defendant in civil and criminal litigation. He was a prosecutor for 16 years and also represented the State of Michigan as a Special Assistant Attorney General and was a Case Evaluator for Wayne, Oakland and Macomb County Circuit Courts prior to his election to the judiciary in 2010.
Husband of Leta since March 1990; father of Caitlyn and J. Martin Brennan, III ("Trip"); brother of Terry (Ryan) Armbruster, Betsy (Bill) Moynihan, Jean (Nate) Fisher, Joe (Barbara) Brennan, Tony (Janice) Brennan, and Dan (Cristie) Brennan.
