She was born in Pawtucket, RI and was the daughter of the late John and Jean (Robertson) MacSwan.
Mary was educated in RI and she worked for Blue Cross Blue Shield in Boston and then worked for Rockland Trust Co., in Rockland for 17 years.
She attended the New River Valley Baptist Church in Pulaski.
Survivors: loving wife of 52 years to Walter J. Aikens, Jr. of Dublin, Va. formerly of Abington; loving mother of Jeff Aikens and wife Connie of Va., Scott Aikens of Va., Lynne Rowley and fiancée Steve Tucker of Bridgewater, and the late Glenn Aikens; also survived by five grandchildren and one great grandchild.
A funeral service will be held at the Quealy and Son Funeral Home, 116 Adams Street (just off Rte. 58 near North School) Abington, Wednesday, Feb. 22 at 11 a.m. Visitation Tuesday 5 to 7 p.m. Interment Blue Hill Cemetery – Braintree.
