US Congressman. He graduated from Indiana Central Business College, in 1906, from Earlham College, in 1909 and was principal of French Lick High School, (1909-11). He also was superintendent for the schools of Fairmount, (1913-17), Waterloo, (1917-18) and Grant County, (1921-25). In 1925, he was elected as a Republican to the Sixty-ninth, Seventieth and Seventy-first Congresses, serving until 1931. An unsuccessful candidate for reelection, he was secretary-treasurer of Driveways Contractors Incorporated, editor of Fairmount Indiana newspaper, (1932-42) and operator of Indiana Hotel, from 1961, until his death at age 85.
