Pauline Proctor of St. Clair, MO departed this life on Saturday, October 1, 2011 in Washington, MO, having reached the age of eighty-seven years, eleven months and eight days. Pauline was born in Muhlenburg County, KY on October 23, 1923, daughter of Elvey Thomas Whitney and Ethel Gertrude Whitney nee Johnson. As a young woman, Pauline was united in marriage and two sons came to bless this union. On September 6, 1957 she was united in marriage to Walter Edwin Proctor and their families were joined as one.

Pauline is survived by two sons, David Marsh of St. Clair and Michael Marsh and wife, Bonnie, of Lonedell, MO; by one step-daughter, Elizabeth Ackerman of Evansville, IN; by two brothers, James Whitney and Cecil Whitney both of Evansville, IN; by one sister, Era Belle Travis of Drakesboro, KY; by six grandchildren, Aimee Wilson and husband, Chester, of St. Clair, Michele Dierker and husband, Steve, of Lonedell, Timothy Marsh and wife, Lori, of Valley Park, MO, Leah Creasy and husband, Larry, of St. Clair, Kathy Vollmer and husband, Andrew, of Lonedell and Julie Williams and husband, John, of St. Clair; by four step grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren, eight step-great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild, brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, great and great-great nieces and nephews, cousins, other relatives and many friends.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, Elvey and Ethel Whitney; by her step-mother, Mary Addison Whitney; by her husband, Walter Proctor; by one step-daughter, Mary Alice Spencer; and by three sisters, Juanita Walker, Betty Miller and Virginia Eberhart.

Pauline was a Christian and member of Elmwood Baptist Church in Lonedell, MO. She also enjoyed attending Oak Grave Baptist Church in Lonedell. Pauline was a cook by trade and had been employed by Chrysler Daimler Corporation in Fenton, MO as the head cook from 1959 until her retirement in 1970. She was an outgoing lady with many hobbies and interests. She was a talented seamstress and loved quilting. Many of her handmade items are now treasured family heirlooms. She was an avid Cardinal Baseball fan and never missed watching a game. Gardening and canning the produce she raised were other hobbies. Above all else, spending time with her children and grandchildren gave her the greatest joy and many wonderful memories were created.

A kind and loving mother, mother-in-law, step-mother, sister, sister-in-law, grandmother, step-grandmother, great-grandmother, step-great grandmother, great-great grandmother, aunt, great and great-great aunt, cousin and treasured friend, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew and loved her.

Funeral services were held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Russell Colonial Funeral Home, St. Clair with the Rev. Glenn Hammond and Brother Larry Creasy officiating. Interment will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, October 6, 2011 in Bethlehem Cemetery in Madisonville, KY with the Rev. Thomas Marsh officiating.

Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM at Barnett-Strother Funeral Home.
