Funeral services for Robert Wayne Abernathie, 49, of Jacksboro, will be held Friday, April 14 at 10:00 AM in the Church of Christ. Ministers officiating will be Bud Hales, Roy Carpenter and Joe Williams. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Hawkins Funeral Home.
Abernathie died Wednesday, April 23, in Olney. Born May 28, 1936 in Jacksboro, he was a lifelong resident of Jacksboro. He was a tool pusher with Dynamund, a member of the Church of Christ and a past Master of Joplin Masonic Lodge #030
Survivors include his wife, Judy; two sons, Rob Jr. and Ronald; two daughters, Carlyn and Christa; his mother, Ruby Abernathie; a brother, Jimmy of Winters, a sister, Louise Wells of Launel, Mississippi; three nieces and two nephews.
