Born Jan. 7, 1958, in Meadville, Donna was a daughter of the late Gerald Edward Peterson and Evelyn Pierson Peterson. She married David Henry Allen on June 14, 1980, and he survives. She lived all of her life in the Cambridge Springs area.
Donna attended Cambridge Springs High School and graduated from Crawford County Area Vocational-Technical School with studies in food preparation. For many working years she was employed by Holiday Inn doing housekeeping. She also worked for several years as a nurse's aide for Cambridge Springs Rehab and Nursing Center. Her main priority was being a homemaker. While at home she loved helping raise children, both her own and other children entrusted to her.
Surviving Donna, in addition to her husband, David, of 31 years, is a daughter, Kayla Allen, and a son, Chris Allen, both at home. In addition, three sisters, Doris, Cheryl Jean and Debra; and three brothers, Donald, Dan and Edward survive. Likewise, Donna is survived by a stepgreat-nephew, Aaron; and many nieces and nephews.
Preceding Donna in death were two stepsisters, Karen Hanes and Connie Hanes; a stepbrother, Fred LaLone; a stepnephew and two stepgreat-nephews.
Friends may call at Van Matre Family Funeral Home, 335 Venango Ave., Cambridge Springs today from 7 to 9 p.m. and are invited to attend the funeral there on Friday at 10 a.m. The Rev. Rod Beardsley, pastor of First Baptist Church in Cambridge Springs, will officiate.
Interment will be in Millers Station Cemetery.
