He went into the armed services on 12 May 1942 serving in the US Army as a Senior Sgt. attached to the AAF 2126 AAF Base Unit and was a gunner instructor until his discharged on 15 October 1945.
He was employed by Mobil Oil Co. as a gang pusher at Baird from 1951-1953, Olney from 1953-1960 and in Breckenridge in 1960 until his death.
Mr. Howell was a member of the Breckenridge Masonic Lodge No. 492. He was a member of the American Legion and First Baptist Church.
He married Peggy Vincent on 12 July 1974 at Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. They had made their homa on Tanglewood Island since 1974.
Survived by his wife; two sons - Randy and Terry Howell; two brothers - His twin - Ray Howell and Wayne Howell; three sisters - Myrle Mitchell; Lillian Morrow of Yantis, Artie Hamilton; two grandchildren.
