Letha Helen Mathis Holland, 67, of Woodson Terrace, Missouri, died Wednesday, October 5, 2011, at DePaul Medical Center in Bridgeton, Missouri.

Mrs. Holland, daughter of Roy and Norma (Snodgrass) Mathis, was born April 18, 1944, in Doniphan, Missouri. She was a cook at Ritenour Middle School and former hairdresser. She enjoyed making quilts, collecting elephants and being with her family and friends. She was an active member of the Overland Church of Christ.

She was married to Doyne Holland at Ponder, Missouri, on March 16, 1963, and he survives.

Also surviving are two children; a daughter, Kimberly (Talmadge) Sims of St. Charles, Missouri; a son, Jeffrey (Barbara) Holland of St. Charles, Missouri; mother, Norma Snodgrass of Doniphan, Missouri; three brothers, Larry Mathis, Gary Mathis and Lonnie Mathis, all of Doniphan, Missouri; three sisters, Sue Lynxwiler and Marilyn Rush, both of Doniphan, Missouri, and Pamela Bradley of St. Charles, Missouri; five grandchildren, Brandi, Kelli and Traci Sims, Jimmy (Emily) Martin, and Megan (Stephen) Tedeschi; and four great-grandchildren, James and Connor Martin and Colton and Remington Tedeschi.

Mrs. Holland was preceded in death by her father, Roy Mathis, and one brother, Willard Mathis.

A memorial service was held Friday evening, October 7, 2011, at the Overland Church of Christ.
Burial will follow in the Shirley Cemetery.
