One day when Jerry Anne's children, Ellen & Teresa Lingg, Jim & Brenda Conine were still youngsters, they had a "children's only" meeting in Gram's kitchen and decided that from that moment on they would start calling Willie, "Grandad". We could not have loved him anymore. In fact Teresa named her son after him, Willie Briggs. Willie D. passed away in the Shattuck Rest Home, after a long illness caused by liver damage, hiatal hernia and diabetes.
