Avateen M. Heater Dries, 90, of Kutztown, formerly of Mertztown, died October 5, 2011 in her residence.
She was the wife of the late Curtis L. Dries, who died on May 5, 1999. Her first husband, Harold R. Heater, died in 1956.
Born on April 21, 1921 in Berks County, she was the daughter of the late John W. and Berdie (Helbert) Fritch.
She worked as a custodian at the former Bank of Pennsylvania, now M&T Bank, for over 20 years, retiring in 1997.
Survivors include daughters, Jessica A. (Heater), wife of Gary Geiger, Fleetwood, and Jocelyn E. (Heater), wife of Ronald L. Ruff, Kutztown; a son, Jon L., husband of Charlotte A. (Brooks) Heater, Mertztown; six grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Saturday, October 8, 2011 at 10:30 AM from the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton, with the Rev. Arthur L. Hahn officiating. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Saturday morning from 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the funeral home.
