Henry G. Boge

Henry G. Boge, 79, of Epworth, former farmer in New Wine township, died at 6:45 am Friday at the home of his son, Walter Boge of Epworth. He had been ill two weeks.

The body may be viewed after 7 pm Saturday at the Sanner funeral home, Farley. The funeral will be at 9:30 am Monday to St. Patrick's church, Epworth. Burial will be in St. Patrick's cemetery.

He was born on Oct. 26, 1870, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Boge, on a New Wine township farm four and a half miles northeast of Dyersville. He married Anna Recker on Feb. 23, 1897. They operated the farm until they retired in 1941, making their home with their son in Epworth.

He was a member of St. Patrick's church, its Holy Name society and the League of the Sacred Heart.

Surviving are the wife; three daughters, Mrs. Anton (Frances) Fortman of Dyersville, Mrs. Art (Alma) Hoefer of Delhi, Ia., and Mrs. Michael (Edna) Urbain of Epworth; four sons, Joseph G. of Peosta, Charles of Dyersville, Ralph of Farley, and Walter of Epworth; an adopted son, Leo Boge of Epworth; 23 grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, three sisters and two brothers.
