Graveside services for Marjorie M. Barr, 69, of 2626 George St, will be held at 10:30 am. Saturday at Deer Creek Cemetery, Deer Creek. She died at 10:30 am. Thursday, Dec. 2,1999, in Miller's Merry Manor.
Born June 5,1930, in Royal Center, she was the daughter of Gerald and Phyllis Skelton Houk. She was married on Dec 6.1957, to Richard P. Barr Sr., who died Jan. 5,1999.
Mrs. Barr had worked for T.M. Morris Manufacturing, the Indiana Department of Correction and as a nurse's aide. She was the past president of Tipton Elementary School PTA and also served on the Logansport City PTA Council. She liked to sew, especially needlepoint and enjoyed reading. She was a "people person" and was always willing to help others. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and devoted wife.
Surviving are two sons, Richard P. Barr. Jr. and Anthony W. Barr, both of Logansport; two daughters, Patty Weldon Cook, Kokomo, and Debra Weldon Zimmerman, Logansport; three' brothers, Wayne Houk, Miami Springs, Fla, and William Houk and Robert Houk, both of Anderson; three grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild.
The Rev. Eugene Fair will officiate at the services.
