E.J. Gangestad Services Set for Tuesday
Edwin Johan Gangestad, 76, St. James, Minn., died 12:40 a.m. on Saturday [January 30, 1971] at Holy Family Hospital.

He was born Feb. 8, 1894, at Badger, to Sam and Julia Gangestad. He received his education in the Halfa schools. He was married on June 21, 1922, to Mary Reining at Estherville. They farmed in Emmet and Palo Alto counties until 1951, when they moved to a farm near St. James, Minn. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.

Survivors are his wife, Mary; one son, Gerrold, Dow City; two daughters, Mrs. Adrian (Iris) Runge, and Mrs. Richard (Opal) Masters, Estherville; 13 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Wilmont Edwards, Ceylon; Mrs. Charles Pruell, Granada, Minn.; Mrs. Harold Jorgensen, Mason City; Mrs. W.E. Hansen, Ringsted; three brothers, Elmer, Brainerd, Minn.; Clifford, Fenton; and Melvin, Estherville.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Estherville, with the Rev. Robert Fitzgerald officiating. Burial will be in East Side Cemetery, Estherville.

Pallbearers will be Gary Gangestad, Donald Runge, Charles Murray, Jerry Nelson, Danny Nelson and Michael Gangestad.
