Louise Duncan Swisher, 84, Mooresville, died Dec. 3. She worked at Kendrick Memorial Hospital, Mooresville, retiring in 1989.
She served as vice chairwoman of the Republican Central Committee and as Mooresville Town Clerk. Mrs. Swisher was twice named a Sagamore of the Wabash, by governors Otis Bowen and Robert Orr.
She was a member of Mooresville Friends Church.
Services: 1 p.m. Dec. 7 in Carlisle & Son Funeral Chapel, Mooresville, with calling from 4 to 8 p.m. Dec. 6. Burial: White Lick Cemetery, Mooresville.
She was the widow of former state Senator Paul W. "Pete" Swisher.
Survivors: children Charles D. "Bud" Swisher; Janet S. Mackenzie, Paul S. Schelm; brother Arthur J. Duncan; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren.
