He was a son of the late James D. and Essie Bailey and was also preceded in death by an infant son, Frankie Bailey, and by two brothers and three sisters.Mr. Bailey was a World War II Army veteran, having served in the European Theater. He retired from Hoover Ball as a mechanic in 1978 after 19 years of service and was a member of Erwin Church of Christ, where he had served as an elder for several years.Survivors include his wife, Rachel Peters Bailey; five sons and three daughters.Source- The Elizabethton Star, Oct. 2003
