Homer L. Brown, 75 of Roanoke, died Sunday, December 18, 2005, in the United Hospital Center at Clarksburg, after a long illness.
He was born July 9, 1930, at Dutch, WV, a son of the late Thurman Issac Brown and Mae Belle Allen Brown. On August 21, 1957 he married Josephine Harper Brown who survives. Also surviving are sisters, Ruby Bee of Orlando, Daisy Mae Carrizales of San Benito, Texas, and Angie Diaz of Ft. Pierce, Florida; brothers, George D. Brown of Olympia, Washington, Harold M. Brown of Baltimore, Maryland, and Ralph F. Brown of Coinjock, North Carolina; many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, preceding him in death were sisters: Edna, Ressie and Mavis; and brothers: John and Sherman.

Homer was a Korean War veteran having served two tours in Germany, one tour in Korea, and one tour in Greenland while serving with the U.S. Army for 20 years. After his military service ended in 1968 he worked for General Motors. Burial will follow in the Little Kanawha Memorial Gardens at Heaters, where military rites will be under the direction of American Legion Post #33.
