Marie Benton Mangum, 84, died July 23, 1998, after a long illness.
She was born in Gates County, N.C., daughter of Elisha and Sadie Paxson Benton. She and her predeceased husband, Reuben ''Ruby'' Mangum were in the restaurant business in Norfolk for 30 years.
She leaves to honor her memory her daughters, Marion Mangum Kyte, Louise Disosway Law; son-in-law, Donald Kyte; her grandchildren, Joy L. Call, Denise L. Rodgers, Tamela K. Callihan, Jeffrey E. Kyte, Daryl L. Law, and Daniel C. Kyte; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Tyler Callihan, Eric and Lindsey Kyte, and Lauren Kyte.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday by Dr. Paul C. Lawson at Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Smith and Williams Funeral Home, Norfolk Chapel.
