**** OBITUARY ****
Mrs. Ellen Beers
The death of Mrs. Ellen Beers, widow of the late John Beers, took place May 4, 1935, at the home of her granddaughter, Mrs. R. H. Spitz, 327 E. Meyers, Hazel Park, Michigan, with whom she had made her home for the past eleven years. Mrs. Beers will be remembered as one of the pioneer residents of Sanilac Township, having lived on the town line road the greater part of her life.
She was born November 9, 1846, and led an active life right up until a week before her death.
Funeral services were held at Mt. Pleasant church May 6 at 2:30 p.m. and burial took place in the Ridge Road cemetery. Funeral was conducted by Rev. Fred Wood, and services by Rev. Gordon Wood, both of Detroit.
She leaves one son, John W. Beers, Lapeer; one daughter, Ella Swackhammer, Hazel Park, Mich., two sisters and one brother living in Texas, and one sister Amanda Fraleigh, of Applegate; ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
